The presenter, who joined the broadcaster following his exit from the BBC, confirmed that his new programme is currently scheduled to launch in October. Speaking at the National Television Awards, Ross claimed that he will try to persuade the actor to make a rare UK television appearance.

"We'll have whoever is available, whoever is a good name," Metro quotes him as saying. "I'm trying to get Brad Pitt at the moment. I'm seeing him this summer so I'm going to try and persuade him."

He added: "I'm meant to be seeing him for a game of tennis. I don't know if it's going to happen though because I don't think he's ever done one over here."
